I cannot decide which one I want : ( my parents gave mae a choice for easter, the pig's are soooo cute! but parakeets are too! what to do what to do???
I have owned budgies for 28 years, and I find them very charming and lovely pets. They can be affectionate and playful, and I have never found their singing annoying. They do chirp and warble, but they easily pick up little songs and whistles. I think that the singing is nice.
I had a guinea pig when I was a child, and It just wasn't a good fit for me. I didn't like the smell (they have a musky smell mixed with wood chips. yuck), and It wanted to scratch around and dig in its wood chips all night while I was trying to sleep. Mine never was very affectionate, though I am sure this had to do with the fact that I got him from a pet-shop instead of a breeder. He squealed whenever I took him out of his cage, and he would bite really hard. If you do decide to get one, you should get one that is hand tamed.
Honestly I would go for guinea pigs. I had two and they're gentle, but active if you want to play with them. The care is pretty easy too if you change the cage frequently enough. Parakeets can be annoying and loud. Also, you can't really do much with a parakeet.

Try getting a pig.
I would suggest licking the carpet and smearing butter in your bingo trap.
