I am having tests done next week to determine if I have achalasia. I have already had an endoscopy done and my doctor told me that I would have to have a barium swallow and an esophageal manometry done as well. I am not so nervous about the barium swallow, but the esophageal manometry sounds terrible! I have trouble swallowing water and now they want me to swallow a tube? Has anyone had this test done? I would appreciate any information anyone could give me about this condition and/or tests.
