Hey yeah i am 28 weeks, nearly 29 weeks (on friday) and i am surprisingly very nearly prepared.

I have bought everything but the big things - like cot, pushchair, car seat, baby bouncer chair, Moses basket (bassinet) and i also want to buy some 3-6 month clothing before she is born - i'm expecting a little girl with like 99% accuracy on the sonogram so yeah i'm buying lots of cute pink little outfits - i'm sure i'll buy more after she is born. I have also bought all the bedding, bottles, 5 packs of nappies and gonna buy more - 4 packs of baby wipes, steriliser, baby monitors

but i am one of those annoying over prepared women lol, i dont think i could have it any other way. Plus we dont have baby showers over here (UK) so its pretty much down to the parents of the baby to buy everything it needs - i will get a few gifts when she is here i know that - but i'm not expecting a lot!

I will be 27 weeks on Wed of this week. Two more days...so I am crashing your question :) We have been buying stuff when we can afford it, since I am a serious clearance shopper and I always use coupons. So far we have: a crib (more than half off clearance! Only paid 100 bucks or a 4-in-one convertible one. We needed another one, cause our son is still in the first one), a dresser to match (same deal, it was like 50 bucks), a diaper bag (newer and bigger), a baby bath (discontinued model!), lots of clothes (Gymboree clearance racks), about 30 pack of various sized diapers, about 30 packs of wipes, some bibs, some burp cloths, some pacis, and we have a cradle that belonged to my hubby as an infant. My mom is making a new pad and some covers for it. I feel as ready as I suppose anyone is at this point. We are just finishing painting the room now. And next it is just getting the stuff in and built and set up for the little guy. I have not really talked much about maternity leave. They obviously know I am pregnant and planning to take some time. But I guess I will stick with the standard 6 weeks. I also work at home (in addition to my outside job), so I can do that even when the baby is little. I plan to work up until I am too uncomfortable to do so anymore or the babe comes. And we are having a boy. I have two other children, who are home with me on the days I work from home and with grandmom the days I am out of the house (both jobs are part time). They are excited (well, the three year old is). I am nervous ;)

I personally have only bought a few items - maybe 3 outfits, stroller that was on clearance and a swing.

But between both grandparents we have pretty much nothing left to get. We need a Monitor a crib and a few other smalll items. Grandma has promised to buy us a crib. But as of right now we have a play yard with a bassinet so its not right away.

I have no idea what I am doing for Maternity leave. I probably work till I can. And take a few weeks off... or whatever is needed. I work at a photo studio that employees 3 people myself included. So I am needed there.

I havent bought much yet because i am waiting to see what i get for my baby shower first (its this weekend) i have the basics-the crib and baby furniture (i refinished some of my baby furniture which was really cool) I also have my stoller and car seat (an early shower gift). I will probably do a big shopping spree late August early Sept to get the rest of what i need.

I was thinking about taking 6 weeks off and then work from home another 2-3 weeks. So about 2 months total off. I am not taking any time off before i give birth unless i have to--i would rather have the time with my baby after. Luckily i get short term disability so my maternity leave is paid (even if it isnt full pay) My husband may be getting a new (better) job and if he does i may take a little more time off before i go back to the office.

Hey :) I'm 29 weeks 1 day pregnant and really haven't bought much as far as furniture for baby goes. My hubby and I are waiting to see what we get for our shower in a few weeks. My cousin gave us a brand new baby bath and jumperoo. My MIL and mom did buy the crib and mattress though, it just has to be shipped. I have bought random outfits for our lil boy with my husband. Not a lot, but just a few we found too cute to put back. We also just bought his first halloween costume!! He is due October 18th, so we have that all ready :) I was excited about that! I am really sure we are having a boy because he wasn't shy at all!!! But... I did have my moments where I wondered anyways :) I will be a SAHM, so I'm sorry I can't help much with the maternity leave questions. Everything will work out though! I'm 2 days from having my baby! but I had all the larger items by 30 weeks and new for a fact at 18 weeks it was a boy cuz you could see his little turtle clearly on the screen lol

there are always onsies, crib sheets and whatnot that are for either sex.

I went to a restore and bought a crib, stroller, car seat etc cheap and good quality so look around you area and it can be pretty easy. the clothes can always wait until after you haveyour ultrasound of course.

You may want to buy larger items now that way you're not buying everything at once.

I have the big things out of the way. The rest I am waiting till after my baby showers (to see what all I get and have left to buy). It's a girl! :)

I'm an office manager for a large company that I have been with for over 3 years now.. I plan working up until my delivery. I will be going on "permanent maternity leave". My new job will be a stay at home mommy/homemaker.

Im 30w5d, We have Carseat, Stroller, Baby Bath, Swing, Crib, Bassinet, Bouncer, TONS and tons of clothes, tons of baby blankets that were mine when i was a baby. LOL. I only think i have bought a few outfits, and the rest has all been bought for us, and I havent even had a babyshower yet..... I have one at the end of Aug and beginning of Sept. LOL. It started off being a small area in my living room, and has way overflowed into the kitchen, and the bigger items are in the babys room, but its not done so i dont want to throw all of it in there, just to take it out when i redo it.. LOL

As for maternity leave, i got fired in May, wrongfully. And now they are paying me unemployment, it couldnt have came at a better time! LOL. As far as after the baby is born, depends how the econemy is, i live in a small town and theres not jobs for 60+ miles. We will see!

When i was 34 weeks i was only measuring 31 weeks so i was sent for a growth scan straight from the midwifes. They checked baby wasn't in any distress, they checked the placenta and cord to make sure they were fine and that baby was getting everything she needed and everything was ok. They said baby was within normal growth range and that i was measuring small because she was lying transverse. My baby was born at 40weeks and was just under 7lb. I also know someone who also get sent for a growth scan at 34 weeks and they found that the cord wasn't working properly and she had a c-section the next day.

as far as we know we're having a baby boy :) he's super active , especially when no one's around to wanna feel him move lol what a smart guy ! we have also bought NOTHING for the baby , mostly because alot of family members & friends we know just had babies earlier this year & are passing down items to us .

as for work , i stopped working when i was around 3 mnths pregnant because my husband didn't want anything to happen to this kid [it's our first btw & first grandchild for both sides] but i do plan on finding work after my child is old enough & able to be babysat by my younger sister .

we're still throwing a babyshower though just because he's the first kid/grandkid & we cant WAIT to have this little one !
