my family's home computer has gone bonkers.
we've been waiting for a friend to come over and help us fix it (b/c we're not very computer smart) but he hasnt showwed up the 3 times he's said he was going to show up. so i figured ill go on my healthy laptop and do some research to see if we can fix it our selves.
the problem:
everytime we try to open up the internet browser, it closes itself without warning.
aaand a porn website keeps popping up and it gives us trouble to close.
im furious that this happened despite all the times ive told them to not go on any random web sites or websites they shudnt even be on. and i tell them to update it also, but they dont.
i dont know what happened or whats wrong.
PLEASE HELP!!

one thing... instead of google chrome, can i use safari instead?

Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ for malware and bots and dns hijackers.
They are both free.
What you have will fall under what these two handle. Download the two onto a flash drive, install on the infected computer and update. It sounds like your browser is hijacked, so I would try spybot first.
In the future, neither of these programs autmatically update, so keep that in mind when you use them.
You have some nasty viruses...
Do this....
Go to a different PC and download Google Chrome (a browser) and save it to the computer. Then copy that file, the installation file, on a CD.
Take the CD to your infected PC and install Google Chrome. Open Google Chrome. Then download Malwarebytes at malwarebytes.org and UPDATE it, then run it.
It will find the viruses and delete them for you.
if you're using internet explorer browser, try using a different one. google chrome more efficient..
install an anti-virus if you don't have one.. and have your HDD scan, don't forget to update the anti-virus..
if none of this works.. try rolling it back to the day the problem hasn't occurred yet by using system restore..it can be found in the accessories..
if the restoring of system still didn't work.. your PC need a reformat.. and after reformatting, install an anti-virus, it helps..
most likely its a bad virus heres a great free program download on good computer then install it on the broken one u will need to boot it to safe mode with networking after install update then scan http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Your PC has a virus on it.
If you have an Anti Virus on it then do a full scan and see if it finds anything.
If you don't and the internet is fully un usable then follow the steps below.

Have you got a USB memory stick? If so, Plug it into your healthy laptop and download Malware Bytes Anti Malware:

And save it onto your USB and then plug it into your Broken computer and then install it and run a FULL scan. Hopefully it will find the viruses.

If you don't have a USB then either take it to a Professional or wait for your friend.
