Right, well my computer has alot of troubles at the moment.
In Photoshop CS4, when ever i click a drop out button (hold) such as the shape tool selcter, diferent brushes, etc. Also, mozilla firefox, when i try to open it, it IMMEDIATELY closes, and comes up with mozilla crash reporter, and winRAR fails to load the buttons and content when i try to open a rar file. I used VistaGlazz (1.0) and im using a Windows 7 theme, which im now stuck with, because when i try and change the theme, it does nothing, therefor i cant even change my theme back.
I do not have windows restore enabled, because it takes up to much space on my drive, and I've already tried the last known good configuration thing in the F8 menu :P
Any ideas? Thanks
x

Hi
Two gig is more than adequate to run Vista and also, even you add more, ther is no guarantee thatn Vista will accept it or your motherboard.
Download AVAST. That is the best trojan , anti-virus and it is FREE. We all use that as programmers because it doesn't slow your program or computer and secondly, you won;t need any of those sypware, spybots etc....programs that slows down your computer to a half almost.
Your best bet is to use the RUN command and type 'msconfig' and press eNTER
Now, go in the startup and boot services and uncheck the programs you do not have to run at startup. From your screenshot, you have too many background applications running.
So, run AVAST, then run msconfig and that should remedy your resource issues. Dont forget that VISTA is a memory hogger and doesn't always return all the paging memory which often requires a restart.
Do a virus scan. Even a free one like AVG 8.0 will be good. Download 'hijack this' and do an antispyware scan. Download 'ccleaner'. It shows all the software installed on ur system. Uninstall the unwanted ones and also fix the registry errors with it. If nothing works reinstalling windows will be the last option.
Get a good strong antivirus like NOD32 and start with that. Uninstall anything you don't need. Run malwarebytes (it's free). Reload any software that you can't seem to fix. Other than that, hose it down and reload the OS. System Restore might have been able to fix this.
It sounds like you are running low on memory.
1. increase your page file by 1,000 MB and try photoshop again
2. Does IE work?
