I think the t-shirt idea is a good idea. Charlotte Rouse has a lot of cute graphic tees for ten dollars. Also my daughter loves the "Alice" book series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. She is twelve. If she is a very good reader then give her the Twilight book.
