And possibly InDesign as well? How many Adobe programs do you think it could handle?
Is it a good choice for a computer, if its main uses will be for word documents, movie watching, and web surfing? (I'll probably be doing minimal editing, but I'm just asking.)

Just check Adobe's minimum system requirements for CS6, including tested and recommended graphics cards, and make sure your computer healthily exceeds them
I have this same laptop and am writing on it now :P It is capable of all of that and more! I study photography so I am regularly using Photoshop for extended periods of time and also Bridge and Indesign, and the internet, Word Docs etc. at the same time.
I also use it for everything else other than study. Word docs, movies and the web are very very good, better than any Windows computer/laptop I have owned.
Also the display/screen is amazing! It really is superior and when I use a friends laptop that is not a Macbook Pro I can't believe that other people have to use them! The backlight is also very useful and the controls for everything are so accessible and simple.
On top of everything it's just a really good-looking laptop :P mine is my best friend i swear! Mine is also second-hand and you would never know it, they last for so long, mine is atleast 2 years old (more I think) and works the exact same as my friends which is new.
Good luck though with whatever you decide :)
A computer's speed isn't all about its clock speed (GHz). The 13" Macbooks run on a Core 2 Duo processor, which is significantly slower than the 15" Macbooks' newer Core i5 processor. Your battery will probably last a bit longer on the 13", plus, it's cheaper and more portable than the 15". Aside from that though, the 15" Macbook wins in all other aspects. Get the 15".
No questions asked, the best site for Photoshop tutorials is: http://www.photoeditinglessons.com/
All tutorials are in video format, which makes them easier for you to follow along with the instructor. The videos are interactive and very easy to follow, this will help you learn piano three times faster. Good Luck!
