You can do a bunch of things with a DS - watch movies, listem to mp3's, play other game system's games - all u need is a flashcard.

While the Gameboy Advance is completely retroactively compatible (will play original Gameboy games, etc) the Nintendo DS is not. Games labelled for the Gameboy Advance are shaped differently in that they are half the size of Gameboy and Gameboy Color games. Also, if you look closely, the edges of the cartridges are shaped a little differently as well.

The Nintendo DS has shaped their cartridge slot so that it will ONLY fit Gameboy Advance game cartridges and Original and Color games will not work.
