can i travel to london by plane using an expired passport?
my friend told me that she can use her driving licence to fly to london! i was wandering if i would be able to use my expired passport for id or will it have to be a new one!
If you already live in the UK you don't need a passport or a driving licence to fly to london, although you will have to purchase your ticket locally where proof of id may be required.
If you live overseas neither a driving licence or an expired passport will allow you access to the UK.

If it's a UK registered aircraft not leaving UK airspace they might let you on with a UK photo driving licence.
But once you leave the ground a non UK registered plane becomes sovereign territory of the country it's registered to.
Also it's been known to happen that due to ground emergencies of sudden weather changes to divert to other airports.
So flying to Glasgow you could be diverted to Shannon which I in Eire. Or if you are going to Jersey you could be diverted to France.

If you don't live in England, yes, you will need a new passport. If you could use a driver's license, there would be no need for a passport.
Renew your passport ASAP if you're leaving soon.

no. you have to get a new passport. I don't know how your friend used just a drivers' license to get there, unless you live in the UK.
Where're you flying in from? If you're in England, get a bloody train! If outside of England, NO!
Within the UK, yes. Otherwise no.
