can i use my sony HDV camera to record my xbox 360?

so i have a sony hdv camera, not sure on the model... but can i by any way hook it up to my xbox and record my games when i play call of duty or halo? my friends and i are starting a channel on youtube, but i dont wanna spend money and get a capture card if i dont need to. Thanks!

Assuming your Sony HDV camcorder is in the HDR-HC series that catures to miniDV tape, they do not have "AV-in" connections. Not through the analog composite and not through the HDMI (if your has that) and not through the component RGB video connections - these are all outboud from the camcorder only. And the USB is ONLY for getting stills off the memory card. That leaves the firewire port. But since your Xbox 360 has no firewire port, you can't get there from here.
My HDR-FX1 has analog AV passthrough - but that means the camcorder cannot record - only transcode an analog video source (composite) and out the firewire port to a computer. My HDR-HC1 has no AV-in or AV-passthrough.
Tell us the model and we can tell you for sure. At this point, I am about 99.99% sure you cannot get there from here.
