I don't have a gerbil, but I do have a rat. I don't know much about gerbils, but rats naturally have an enlarged hypothalamus gland, basically it's for the same purpose as baby humans, to prevent them from getting sick to germ exposure. So for the most part rat's CAN eat about anything, although I don't feed Lily (my rat lol) just anything. I don't give her meat or anything with high amounts of food coloring, especially red/yellow food coloring. Just not good for anyone. You would be better off googling "healthy gerbil foods" rather than ask her since people tend to treat all their little friends diff. I can't find anything though that says avocado would hurt your gerbil and I would be comfortable giving Lily some, so I think you're good. But for the rest of your question, google it! Good Luck!

Avocado is safe, but not the skin or pit. Don't even feed the flesh close to the skin and pit.

Yes probably I have a dwarf hamster and he loves peppers and nuts. Don't give them onion probably.

I dont think they eat avovado but if you give it to them they will be fine.what ever you do dont give it broccoli
