Can Sleep Paralysis Result In Death?

So I was curious if Sleep paralysis can result in death? Obviously some people have it me than others.. I'm a 13 year old boy who's only had it once when I was 10. I was just wondering because I've heard many conflicting stories.. Anyways here is the story:

One day (Just like any other) I went to bed, happy. No reason in particular aside from the fact I was in a nice and warm bed lying between my mom and dad. (This was back when I used to sleep with my parents, It was due to detachment issues). So of course i was happy. I "Awoke" in a pitch black room, the only thing that was visable was a fan and the lower part of my body (Chest down). This was weird though, not because of this crazy feeling but because the setting was that of my brother Richard's room.. Even though it was pitch black I had a VERY instinctive feeling where I was.. but it didn't make sense to me because why would i have fallen asleep in his room? Never had and never would.. of course I didn't have time to think of all of this because I woke up and in a matter of seconds, started having a panic attack and could not breath. Obviously since I was only 11 years old this was very flipping traumatic.. I was more scared than i've ever been about ANYTHING mainly because I thought I was going to die due to me not being able to breath... after 2 years after this event I can't help think back to it and ask multiple questions.. Also I remember nothing of "Truly" waking up like I normally do. Anyways, don't leave responses explaining why this happens because I already understand WHY I just want to know.. is it life threatening? Not to me but just to anybody who suffers from Sleep Paralysis.. Thanks for the answer and have a great day.
