i have keratosis pilarsis i wanna get rid of so bad! my dermatolgist gave me steroid cream im just wondering since its "steroids" can it cause depression? cause if it does im going to try a find a new way to clear it

topical steroids cannot cause depression.
and mind you, corticosteroids are different from anabolic steroids; so keep in mind that they have different effects on the body. don`t confuse the two. whatever stigmas one may have, the other doesn`t.
I think they could and I have to disagree with Alex. It is now known that topical steroids impact on the HPA axis (the Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis) in the human body, which regulates the bodies ability to handle stress and emotion. If topical steroids suppress the HPA, which has been proposed by scientists, then of course it could effect your mood.
Topical steroids, introduced way back in the early 1950s, carry a lot of stigma nowadays because they seem to be a double edged sword. Yes, they relieve eczema and other conditions temporarily, but they have a whole range of nasty long term side effects. New treatments need to be introduced that get to the cause of eczema.
