I am 7 weeks pregnant. Before I fell pregnant I never had headaches and when I did they were normally at the front of my head and lasted an hour or so then passed.
The past 3 weeks I have had such terrible headaches, which im putting down to being pregnant because nothing else has changed. They are normally in the back of my head and range from a sharp stabbing pain to a dull aching pain. Paracetamol doesnt seem to help either. They have been lasting anything from an hour or two to all day. I tend to get them mid morning or last thing at night.
I have been drinking plenty because a common cause is dehydration but it hasnt made much difference.
I hope they pass soon because they are the worst symptom I am getting.
I've only ever had 2 really bad head aches during my pregnancy and I'm 33 wks. The first time it was horrible I went ~6 hours without taking any tylenol. It was a pounding headache that just throbbed everywhere. Closing my eyes felt like it was making it worse, sitting in the dark didn't help, I tried cold/hot compressions so finally I caved and took a tylenol at 2 in the morning and it went a way almost instantly. The second one wasn't as severe but it still hurt like hell.
I STARTED GETTING HEADACHES WHEN I WAS ABOUT 17 WEEKS I WOULD START HAVING BLURRED VISION AND THEN I WOULD GET A BAD HEADACHE. THE DOCTOR DID BLOOD WORK AND I HAD LOW IRON AND HAD TO TAKE PILLS TWICE A DAY IT REALLY HELPED.
