I picked up a smashed CanoScan LiDE 60 scanner. I've removed all of the glass shards and fragments and re-assembled the scanner which, although lacking the glass, appears to work fine. It moves down and up and scans documents through a sheet of perspex laid on the flatbed.
Canon have been no help in suggesting a suitable type of glass to replace the smashed piece.
Do you know which type of glass should be used, and if possible, the dimensions?
Many thanks.

if Canon are no help then the only real option is to get a working or non-working (preferably) scanner from eBay or your local freebie paper. You can then dismantle it (not much point if it is working though) and use the glass in your one. All you can do for replacement is measure the frame and get a piece cut to size but the chances are after all the hassle of going to find a piece, cost of getting there, cost of the glass, cutting to size etc it is possibly cheaper to actually buy a new one. The glass I would have though would probably have some sort of anti glare coating, the white board the other side (on the lid) would possibly mean it does not need it. As to size,
The bonus of course of buying a newer version is that you do get a new full warranty.
I'd suggest that the glass replacement will be more expensive than just replacing the scanner as a whole. They're £55. http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_i...
If you're determined to repair it then buy a broken scanner from ebay (they come up quite regularly) and cannibalise that, or check your local freecycle or freegle groups for people giving them away.
