i am competing in a couple car audio competitions this summer and was wondering if you can run your amps from your cigarette lighter. i know its not the best but it works. i share the car until i graduate so until then, i cant "modify" it (run wires ect). before anyone gives me crap about this, i run the cigarette lighter to a battery bank which i charge overnight so i am doing this safely. anyways, can i still compete even though i am not running it off of the stock battery.
btw, the event is a db drag event

Most competition organizations do not allow " non permanent " installations to compete in the regular classes. You will automatically get put in the extreme or outlaw class. So you would be in a class with the guys that have walls with eight 15 inch subs in them. That's if they let you in at all. if you do not have visible fuses in the power wire they may not let you in at all due to safety rules.
I assume you mean the rem power, in your situation just run a rem wire from the head unit at the fuse box, just tuck the wire under the carpet...
the final thank you to discover close by competitions is to verify with your close by motor vehicle audio sellers or to seek iasca they sponsor activities everywhere in the country which includes the worldwide finals
