I have a 91 Toyota Celica, everything works fine but the battery dies within a week or so after not driving (it's not a primary car). We've tried different batteries, replaced the alternator, and still the same problem. The only mechanical modification to the car is shaved door handles, so there is cylinoids on the inside of the door. The car wasn't ran prior to the door handle installation, so unknown if this is the answer. The car is a salvage and has been cleared for driving and runs well otherwise. Would like to get it fixed so it can be my primary car. I love it.
Thanks

Even at dead stop, ignition key off there is a little bit of drain on your battery but not enough to discharge your battery within a week. Not necessarily a short but more than likely you have an exterior or an interior light that remains on. Check on that first. Secondly try disconnecting your battery for the length of time you are not driving the car. Then connect it back up to start the car and see if you have the same problem.
you should put something called a float charger/battery maintainer on it this is not uncommon since vehicals use power while car is off to retain settings
there is a drain on the battery. you have to find it.
