I had a friend who had a cleft lip, he did not get it fixed because insurance does not cover it. His cousin also had a cleft lip and he did get surgery on it by paying out of pocket. There are documentaries on the surgeries some doctors may help out for free to give someone a more normal life.

my son is o most two now he done had 5 surgery's 4 on his mouth, and he done two surgery's on his ears and at the end of dec. it will be 3 surgery's on his ears. one surgery of the ears was done when they did his first surgery. his first was done when he was 3 months old the repair of the lip and a set of tubes put in his ears, 2nd of the hard palate was done when he was 10 moths old , his 3rd of the soft palate was done when he was 14 months 4th was on his ears for tubes again when he was 15 months, the 5th was was when he was 18 months to fix the holes where the stitches busted. he did great after all them but the 3rd one of the soft palate. that one was by far the worst. he cried the whole time after, he was throwing up blood from the blood going in his stomach during surgery. the pain medicine was not even helping with his pain and he would not eat anything. but for the other 4 surgery's he did great!! for the 2nd surgery the next Morning the was pulling himself up on bed and playing having a great time. but yes they do have to get ears and hearing checked. my son field his hear test when he was first born but they said once the did surgery he would be fine... well he can hear very good lol. he always suffers from ear infections he prob. get between 1 and 2 a month. andwe have medicade and they pay for everything bein g done for my son i dont pay for nothin. and it cost less then 300 for surgerys ..(i know because my dr gave me a reciet and i had cost like 280 ill say and end balance 0 .
