Ctrl Alt printscreen does the trick on pc's but it only copies the image to the clipboard. You then have to get up paint or some other image software and paste it in.
CTRL + V is good if you have a little knowledge on how to get it from the clipboard, but for inexperienced users try a screen capture utility like MW Snap: http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html.

Forget all that print screen crap. If you have Vista or windows 7, use the snipping tool in accessories
