Why does my laptop keep saying limited connectivity?, For a few months now my laptop has not been working properly on WI-FI, however it does work on Ethernet connection. When im connected to the internet by wifi it will work for a few minutes or so then it will say limited connectivity and i have to disconnect and reconnect to get it working again. i have tried everything i can think of, i have done a virus search and found nothing, i have updated my wireless driver, i have reinstalled my wireless driver and more. why does my computer keep doing this and how could i fix it?

Since you didn't post any details about your computer or operating system, I can only offer this assuming it's a windows machine:
go to "manage WIRELESS networks" in network and sharing
delete the wireless connection made to the router - this will trick your machine into thinking its never connected to the network
go to "manage networks connections" and right click on wireless
connect to chosen network and check "display characters" you can then see what your entering to cross reference with the wireless key.
that should then connect - if not, reset the router (pin hole in the back until lights change)
follow same process
Have you ruled out a signal loss issue ? Try moving the laptop as close as possible to the router / modem and see if your connection issues clear up..
Also, certain devices transmit on the same frequencies as Wi-Fi and can cause problems.. cordless phones, wireless printers, I've seen fluorescent lights cause issues with Wi-Fi if they are between the computer and modem / router .
Microwave ovens often transmit quite a surge of random radiant energy when they first power on. Not enough to be harmful to people, but enough to knock out a Wi-Fi connection.
Try moving the computer closer to the router, and if that doesn't work, then try turning most everything off except the computer and router.

Limited connectivity means that the computer is connected to only the local Wifi network. It is likely that there is a communication problem between your Wifi network and the internet itself. Try restarting your router, modem, or right clicking on the network icon in the task bar and clicking "Troubleshoot problems." It is also possibly probable that a problem is going on between only the computer and the router. You can try going into your command prompt by entering "cmd" and hitting enter once you click the start menu in the "Search programs and files" text box. You can then type "ipconfig /release" and hit enter then "ipconfig /renew" and hit enter. After that type "exit" and hit enter. There really isn't much more information that you supplied so I cannot give a more valid answer.
I don't have an answer yet, but... next time it does that, put the computer down and:
If you have a router/modem combined in one unit, reboot it. Wait a couple min and see if it's ok.
If these are separate devices, reboot the router, wait a min and see if it's fixed. If not, reboot the modem, wait a min and see if it's fixed.
If either of those suggestions work, the problem isn't your laptop but most likely the device that you rebooted that is causing the problem.
Once you try those suggestions, report back. I'll have more troubleshooting to do.
