i just asked about how to make more space because my laptop was running slow, well as i was working on that, my sound cut off! i was changing my desktop theme while listening to music and it just cut off but it's still playing! i checked the sound settings in the control panel and everything looks normal, so i'm confused. once again, i have windows xp with service pack 3. please help me, lol.
Update:i should add that i didn't delete any programs, i just deleted music and pics today. so i don't think i had any part in the sound stopping. but then again i'm no computer wiz, lol.

just reboot you have probably deleted what you were listening to.

SP3 has caused a number of issues in my clients computers ranging from wifi issues browser issues and sound issues. Try uninstalling SP3. Restart system and after POST Beep hit F8 key when Menu comes up select Safe Mode> Go into Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs and scroll down to Windows XP SP3 and select remove. After uninstall Restart System in Normal Mode.
Hope this Works----If it does not uninstall driver and reinstall
Control Panel>System> Device Manager Sound and Audio Devices select Sound driver and uninstall
