Lately my brand new computer, which i have had only for a few months is acting up on me. The problem seems to be with the programs which seem to frequently go "Not Responding" Another case would be when i am playing a game and it crashes which makes the whole computer slow down to a crawl and even completely freeze. Is this a problem with my cpu or something having to do with registery errors? Is there a way to fix this and make my computer run smoothly again? Any help is appreciated!

If you're using a windows operating system, just get used to it. If you don't have updates on, you should do a total update. This might take a while, but it will help with the problems. I'm not sure about any other OS's, I've only ever owned Windows. I've heard that Mac charges an outrageous price for service packs.
I'm running Vista right now, and I have this problem periodically. Restarting the computer sometimes helps. If your playing games, your specs might not be good enough for the game. Try checking the recommended specs for the games, and compare them to your own.
I think you need to install a security software. The recommended ones would be Macafee Security or Netzero. This should prevent it from crashing or freezing. If it is still slow you might want to check your internet connection. hope i helped :)
What programs have you installed on the PC since you bought it?
Probably sounds like either you don't have enough RAM or not enough video memory to carry all the programs you are running simultaneously.
it could be spyware or a virus they will make your computer slow down and or freeze up. go to download.com scrow down on right side of page you will see a list of programe list. look for avg free edition click on it to down load then look for advance system care free. this will clean up your computer of spyware and what ever else is wrong with your computer. good luck
If it is nearly new, it would be under warranty. You should take it back to be checked. It may be the hard drive is faulty.
