First of all, simply using the Windows Vista recovery CD that was included with your new computer does not constitute a legal, legitimate license on your older one. You need to re-install Windows XP.
Not trying to be rude, or insult your intelligence at all, but, if you feel you are not up to the task of doing this, find a mom-and-pop computer store around your town, or another service center, and have them do it.
If you feel you are capable, you need to locate an OEM Windows XP CD. Put it in the older XP computer. Press ESC or F12, whichever your computer is set to load the boot selection screen from, and select your CD/DVD drive. Follow the onscreen instructions. Be sure to back up your data.
yo, your old comp may be not good enough for vista, or the vista may be fake, but whatever the case, don't have vista on 2 machines!!! put xp back on your old comp after formatting your hard disk, which can be done from the xp installation cd.
try going to computer reset. it should reset it to its default settings and it should work.
if you cant find it try searching for it.
