Hi when i was 14 i broke into someone house and he called the police. They came down and got me and brought me down to the station for questioning. Luckily my dad knew the guys whose house i broke into so he decided to drop or not press any charges. So now im in my last year of high school and would like to go on to college to study criminal justice and later become a either a police officer, correctional officer or cbp but i dont want to waste my dads money for nothing. Now my question is i dont know if the arrest is on my record or whatever is on my record but lets say they find it or they dont but i tell them to be honest would that be a big negative and stop me from being hired.?

Be honest about it. You can also check with the courthouse in the jurisdiction where it happened and inquire about your record. If enough time has passed you can get the record sealed and expunged. This type of action is forgivable.

If you're planning on getting into an area involving Criminal Justice on the proper side, I think the best thing for you is to brush up on the legislation in your residing state, especially the Criminal Act and better yet, go to the police in person and ask directly because they'll give you a better response than asking any one here.
Although with every single Criminal Justice application that I have ever come across, they always ask you whether you have committed any criminal offences, which includes traffic or otherwise; your answer is to disclose as much as possible based on your recollection. If you don't have any except parking fines; disclose that too.
One way or the other, if you falsely disclose any criminal offences that you might have done, then you will be liable for the application to be terminated, your name and details placed on file for an X period of time as well as getting fined. For Federal policing organisations; you can also be sent to jail, so this is something you should be utterly aware of and when you do an application form; read the fine print and anything that is written on it.
The policing organisation will literally check your entire life from day one and onwards; everything from financial records; to assets; to your tertiary studies; and so forth.... absolutely everything.
If you disclose details onto the application form, it shows that you have a good character, ethical and especially honest. But the application process is one part of it; should you be successful; there are obviously other tests, such as the physical and if applicable psychometric tests involving Intelligence Test and Psychological evaluations; all of which is dependent on the organisation that you intend to apply with.
For me, I'm looking into getting in some form of policing, but I'm doing my masters at the moment just to specialise a little more into the field of expertise.
If they found that if you have a criminal record is hard for you to become police officer,
You should check your record to online site that offer a criminal record check,If no records available then go to the police stations where blotter or record was made if the record is still accessible to public.
Don't relay to much.of the common practice with regard to destroying juvenile records across different states is that when the juvenile reach legal age, the court would order the records destroyed. Given this, access to these records is very limited and lawyers who may want to look at the juvenile record of an accused would have to prove that it has direct relationship with the crime that an adult person is accused of doing.
So it is better that you check your record as early as possible to avoid delay, hassle and missed the opportunity to become a police officer
Hope this a help!
God Bless!.
there are some strict employment corporation that by no ability settle for an worker that committed even in straightforward terms a misdemeanor, some jobs that require FBI historic past exams on skill workers are those of the police branch, jobs that require particular care, which contain infants, and jobs that contain transactions of extensive quantities of money. FBI historic past exams are significant and mandatory for agencies and agencies in those factors.
As much as having a criminal record, the fact that you committed a felony offense will get you rejected from a law enforcement career.
Good Luck.
