Criminal record for possession? Canada?
I was arrested a few months ago for possession of 3 grams of marijuana in Ontario, Canada. I did 20 hours community service. Do the charges stay on my record or are they dropped? I want to know because I have to apply for a volunteer program and one of the questions asks if I've ever been convicted of a criminal offense..and I know convicted and arrested are 2 different things.

Your next avenue is to apply for a "Pardon" through the courts. However, this may not apply to you yet due to the incident being very recent. It is my understanding that such occurrences stay on your record for a minimum of 7 years prior to a pardon being granted. Best thing to do is to contact your local police service for advice. Believe it or not, they will assist you in attaining information for you to proceed and have your incidents removed from your record.
