Talk to your parents or grandparents first. They can find out what kinds of activities are offered for the different age groups. If the older children's group is too young for you, are you really ready for the teen's group? Do you want to have older teens hitting on you?
My daughter (who's also 12 going on 13), didn't go with the teen group on our latest cruise (even though she looks older). She went to the older children's programs a few times with her 8-yr old cousin, but most of the time we went off the boat having family adventures or they went to the pool with her older college-age cousins. On some cruises (Princess), the older children were allowed to sign themselves in and out of the children's center (if their parents or guardians gave an okay). Again, talk to your family.
Your family can also read reviews of your cruise on Cruise Critic and pose questions about the children's and teen's activity programs.
They don't really care how old you are, sooz just ask if you can go into the teen center (they won't care if your almost 13) Besides, your parents have to fill out a form so you can go, so it would be kinda hard to fake your age.
why would you fake your age into being 13? Check out socialtravellersite (dot com). They have articles about cruises and i think they can tell you about fun activities which you do not have to fake your age.
mmmmm... just enjoy your cruise and dont also pretend your thirteen.. just enjoy it coz after all the purpose of the cruise is to enjoy and remember you are on a vacation...
