Hello, I am on a pain contract for chronic pain due to bladder endometriosis and RA and that has been working AMAZINGLY. My problem now is I've had a severe migraine for 2 days now and the only thing that helps is Demerol, always. Now that I've signed this contract I can only get the Demerol through the PA that I signed the contract through, correct? If I went to the ER it would be a breech of contract right!?

Blood clot where? No narcotic should be given to any patient with a head injury (if that is where the clot is or if that is what it is from). If your wife is still in the hospital I would be concerned that they are not managing her pain properly. As no patient should be suffering from any sort of pain and inform the staff of the type of pain (describe in detail) she is having. How often, time of day , after certain movements etc. This should help the medical personal with managing her pain. And make sure you inform them of her headaches. If the clot is somewhere else in the body (not in her head) the clot can move through out the body and the headaches could be caused by something else (the blood clot).
You need to call the PA and ask them, not us. None of us know what’s in your contract. Try Excedrin or a generic for your migraine. I’ve found it works better than any pain pill I’ve ever been prescribed, and I’ve been prescribed all of them!
