I'm phobic of the dentist plus I had major pain in my mouth/teeth. I saw a dentist yesterday and he told me to come back today. In the meanwhile my bf gave me 3 10 mg methadone pills for the pain. I took one yesterday and one today. I do not plan on taking anymore because my problems should be fixed today. BUT will I have withdrawal from this after a couple days of use? Thank you.
Update:Rick - Thank you. You are correct. I received a script for vicodin last night that I'm going to pick up this morning when they open.

Each person is different, but you shouldn't have withdrawal issues. But you really shouldn't have taken prescription meds that were not prescribed for you. If you were in that much discomfort, you should have told the dentist who most likely would have given you something legally.
There are other alternatives to pain medication besides narcotics. You definately are not the only person that has ever had a problem with narcotic addiction. It literally happens all of the time. If this is the first time she's heard a patient tell her that, it's rather her first day on the job or past patients have not been open about their problem. If you would like to find out your options try researching: Non-Opiod Analgesics or NSAIDS.(Both are non-narcotic pain medications)
