Did my dad prefer a son?
I've always had the vibe my dad was hoping for a son, but didn't get one. I've never really had a doll or anything to femme, because my dad said they "gave off the wrong message" or whatever. Also, he doesn't support me in dance at all, and tried to get me out of it in any excuse he could. He tries to get me into tomboyish things, and hates it when I go do girlish things like go to the mall or anything like that. When I was younger, I tried to talk about puberty with him, but whenever i did he rudely grunts and walks away. Did my dad want a son instead of a daughter?

I have a baby girl and when me and her dad found out it was a girl , he was upset. He did want a boy. Every man's dream is to have a boy. He loves her with his heart. He tells me he will teach her to be a Tom boy but he kids around. We are expecting a boy and he is very happy. He will always love his daughter too. My point, Dads will always want a son but doesn't mean he should treat you differently.
Yep, sounds like it. Don't try to please him, because in the end it won't be worth it.
