I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC70 camera. Whenever I take videos using the camera, and transfer them to my computer via the SD card slot, they eventually turn into JPEG.
I say eventually because I'm sometimes able to watch them when first transferred to my computer, then they later turn into a single .JPEG file.
I don't know whether it's a problem with my camera or my computer, but either way, I can't seem to find any solutions on the internet.
It's extremely frustrating to keep losing videos like this, so if anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it.

Ug. Sounds like a software codec problem. You're computer does not know how to decode the information.
Hit up the Panasonic web-site and see if you can download current drivers or software.
in case you have the instruction manual instruction manual on your digicam it is going to demonstrate you wherein the memory card is going. some have a slot in the battery compartment, some in which you connect the end bring about load your photos with USB lead. different than that seem for a port that has a small icon in the plastic next to in which you place the memory stick/card. wish it is of help to you.
