I am deploying at the end of the summer and was curious if any insurance companies do seasonal or monthly insurance. I live in NJ so if you know of any place that does this please let me know. I tried riders insurance and progressive already.
Thank you

ask your insurer about a parking policy. They exist here in Oregon for people who want to ride only in good weather ( rain weenieswe call them) and not go through the hassle of a new policy twice a year. Be warned our parking policies are voided if you ride and have an accident while it is in force. But it only takes a phone call to turn it on or off. Sorry I dont remember the name of the company that did this.
Any insurance policy can be cancelled and you are refunded a pro-rated amount for what has not been used. That's state law in every state.
But storing your bike with no insurance is a bad idea. You need fire/theft/flood covereage while you are gone. So buy a year's worth, suspend it when you go overseas so the clock stops, and keep it covered in case of disaster. That's what everyone else who deploys does.
Allstate does indeed do a seasonal policy (with comprehensive only during the winter) but i got year round coverage with Progressive for a whole lot less than i got seasonal coverage with Allstate.
State Farm allows me to suspend (NOT cancel ) coverage during non riding seasons. Maybe its just my agent though, not sure. We ahve been with them a long time.
After the riding season, change your coverage to cover theft and fire, for a reduced rate.
Try Allstate.
I get either a 6 month policy and re-new it, or I get one for the whole year.
I'm not completely convinced about this
maybe that's right
