Try this as a workaround until apple fixes it. Go to settings, general, reset, reset network settings and type your pin in if needed, your device will restart and pop back up and need your wifi info. Type it all in and when the apple page opens up with the title saying something about login, go to the store link, go to the account link and view order history. All this is needed to get to a section where the website asks you to login. Once you login, you should see the done button appear on the right top part of the screen. If you click it, you should be good to go. Goodluck!
This will fix your WiFi problems. Go to >Settings >General >Reset >Reset Network Settings. The iOS device will then reboot. From the startup screen go to >Settings >Wi-Fi > Turn on Wi-Fi and join a network. This has worked for many users. Best of Luck - Steve
TIPS for ios6 update.. if u encounter problem with wifi.. kindly proceed with following steps...
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
I have iPad2 and saw similar problem. Work around is to manually add WiFi connection using the "Other..." option under Choose a network. Enter network name, security protocol (usually WPA) and then your password for WiFi.
I had same issue but got it fixed. Go to your settings for wifi and click the blue arrow on your network. At the bottom click "Forget This Network". Back out and find your Network name again and click on it. It should prompt you for a password. Enter the network password. This should fix your problem... It worked for me :)
There may be some major issue with your ipad, just visit http://ipad.customer-supports.com/ and make a call on their toll free. You will get a certified technician to fix ipad related issues only in a single call. You are just a call away to get fixed.
I just found out by shear luck what might work. Open Apple Apps to update apps and it will ask you to connect to WiFi. It then connected. I don't know yet whether it will stay connected but is working for now.

“ Hold both buttons (top and bottom) at the same time for around 10 seconds until the screen goes off.
- Immediately release both.
- Press top button until Apple logo shows up.
- Wait forever until device comes alive. (This REALLY does take long time, but do not worry)
- Bingo, your network problems should go away.”

This happened to me too. But, I fixed it. Here's how:
Go into your wifi settings.
Selected the network I was trying to connect to, by tapping the blue circled arrow on the right.
Then hit "Forget this Network".
Turn off wifi.
Go into Settings.
Then General.
Scroll all of the way to the bottom, to find Reset.
Select Reset Network Settings.
Your device should then re-start on it's own.
If it doesn't, then re-start it.
Then re-connect to the network...
I was having the same problem. Here's my solution:
Go to Settings->Safari->Clear Cookie and Data.
Restart iPad. Once iPad is back on you should be able to connect to WiFi.
