I've been wanting to get my daughter the Rainforest Jumperoo but my husband keeps saying no because he's afraid it'll cause her to get bow legs. We even talked to a nurse about it and were told that if you keep a child in them for short periods of time and have the height adjusted so just their toes touch the ground that there shouldn't be any issues with bow legs. My husband doesn't believe the nurse.
Has anyone had any experience with jumperoos? Do they cause bow legs? How long is a "short period" of time? An hour a day, spread out over the day, or more or less?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

My two children used jumperoos... and they've got perfectly fine legs!! Unless you plan on leaving your child there all day... they're perfectly fine.
Yes the point of the jumperoo is for your child to touch the ground and jump-not too low that their legs are flexed but not too high that they cannot touch the ground either!!
And you know your baby will tell you how much he likes it, and how much he wants to stay in there... your daughter might not like it more than 10 min at a time! so it depends..
it is really meant for short periods.. let's say you're making dinner, and your baby is fussing place him on the jumperoo near the kitchen or as play time no more than 15 at a time would be my best suggestion.
And tell your hubby to relaaaaax!!! LOL it's nice to see our husbands worry more than us sometimes it shows how much love they have for the kids but there's a point where you have to tell him to take it easy... or he'll go crazy with every bump and scrape!!

Jumperoos
The only thing that can "cause" bowed legs is heredity! If a child has bowed legs, they got it from their parents, not a jumperoo!! My son had one and LOVED his! I kind of hate to admit it but (being a full time student and single mother) he spent hours in his and doesn't have bowed legs.
Every kid in my family for two generations has had a jumperoo type toy. My brother in particular loved his and was in it for hours. Not one case of bowed legs for my moms 7 kids and 18 grandkids! As long as it is adjusted properly they are really not bearing their own weight anyway.

Yeah, if you leave her in in ALL DAY long. But you're not going to do that, so dont worry about it.
An hour spread out over the day sounds fine.
They say a half hour at a time...There is instructions on it actually, showing pics of where their little feet should be when they are in it...My grandson loves his, and his legs are fine.
Uh no they dont cause bow legs. My son loved his and is walking just fine
all my kids used a jolly jumper no they do not cause bowed legs, they do impair walking, meaning alot of kids will walk later than average if the jumper is used too often.
