I put it on top and bottom to make my eyes POP.

I used to but chunks would fly in my eye throughout the day, now i just put it on the top lash. I also have really thin lower lashes so putting on heavy mascara didn't really help.

It all depends on how you want your look. I put mascara on my upper and lower lashes, but I know plenty of girls that do only upper. Everyone does things differently.

You can apply to both. I don't usually wear mascara...but when I do, i only put it on the top lashes.(:

I always do at least 3 coats on top and 2 coats on bottom for lenth. It never turns out racoon-like though. Use Buxom Mascara from Sephora.

because it looks weird having super long top lashes and like tiny invisible bottom ones

one coat on all top lashes, another coat on only the outer top lashes, one THIN coat on bottom lashes

Depends on what look I'm going for. I typically do just the top though
