I disagree with the last post. I do lots of video with my Canon dslr. The question is do you have a good editor? Do you know how to edit? Do you know how to shoot for the editor? Do you know how to properly operate both camera and lens for the best results? Do you understand video enough to realize that probably the most important things in video are focus and steady shots? Do you know how to manually focus in video? Do you understand how to make one shot relate to the next in a way that will lead your viewer through the story you're trying to tell? Can you write a script to fit but not overkill your video? Do you have a way to cut a voice track to your editor's specifications?
Lots of important questions because I did a career in broadcast television... professional for many years. I know how video is properly done, edited and put into a polished piece that a viewer can actually learn something from so that's why all the questions.
If you're experienced in all of the above yes, any video camera will work.

On video ? No. I believe HD is limited to 5 minutes. If you want to make a video, buy a camcorder. They're a lot cheaper.
