I don't think faky looking tans look elegant on anyone or a lady after spending too much time in the sun or a tanning bed. On the other hand, a lady with naturally dark skin can look elegant. See Esmerelda > http://mickey89eli.deviantart.com/art/Real-Esmeral...
You know me, the medical guy. Pale skin, at the cellular level is more healthy then tanned skin. It doesn't matter if it a natural tan or one obtained at the electric beach. However, just 15 minutes a day in natural sunlight exposure to the neck, face, hands and arms will give you a days worth of Vitamin D. The body is great at converting sunlight that hits us into a very essential vitamin.
I think it depends on the rest of the face...as an Asian, I know that in Asian culture they believe that yes, pale skin is very beautiful if you have dark black hair. Stereotypical northern chinese and koreans have pale skin and jet black hair, so many other Asian countries (especially Japan) consider Koreans beautiful.
No, not really. I find it kind of creepy. I prefer tanned for white people, but honestly I prefer women from Latin America, South America, parts of India, and a few Asian countries. To get an idea of my type, look up the actress "Aishwarya Rai".
i think any color skin looks great if the person has nice features. skin color alone doesnt determine beauty. a person can have pale, tan, dark skin and look ugly. also a person can have pale, tan, dark skin can look beautiful.
to ®: i just basically said what u said. i just elaborated my answer, my gosh. i said any color is beautiful. learn to freaking read.

Of course it does if it is natural. Spray tans look trashy.
I agree with Mik. I think pale skin can look elegant on a lady. See Snow White > http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Snow...

This is judging skin color.
Any skin is beautiful in its own way no matter what.
