Unlikely...not impossible, but unlikely.
If you have less than 1Gb of memory, it is probably 100% pure memory issues.
It could be McAfee, since it has grown into quite a resource hog, and it actively monitors everything the computer does. This has been known to crash a system.
Now, if the system was a display model, there could be some issues.
The only way I can (right now) honestly see that it could be Vista related is only peripherally so...if you're on a single core machine.
If you purchased the machine recently (i.e.: within the warranty period), take it in and tell them what is going on. If it is outside the warranty period, you'll have to take it to a tech, and that could end up costing up to hundreds of dollars.
While Vista is not as stable as XP (after all, XP is 5 years old...they've had time to fix a lot of errors), it is generally less prone to crashes and Blue Screening. However, if you have Home Basic...upgrade soon.
Good Luck!
ok im 15 yet this ought to be primary know-how lol DONT EVER purchase AN working device while IT COMES OUT!!!! wait a three hundred and sixty 5 days or so for them to artwork out each and all of the kinks and failures, its on no account perfected while first released, basically downgrade to xp for variety of 8 months then get vista while its fastened
How new is it? Depends on the amount of RAM it has got, if it's got just 1 GB of RAM is more likely to freeze because it's not enough, if has more than that(3 or 4 GB) then look at your receive and return it. If it is not that new, then try to downgrade it.
Disable McAfee and download superantispyware and see how it runs
defective computer take it back, vista ,like other os runs fine, maintenance
is the key
