might be a safty issue..the computer shuts off so nothing gets ruined..try replacing the fan.heatsink on the cpu..could be overheating or a bad fan..take the memory out 1 stick at a time and see if it still shuts off..could be bad memory...put another hard drive in it ( borrow one from a friend)..might be a bad hard drive or bad software issue...have someone who knows about computers look at it..a friend hopefully so you dont get raped at the computer store..and get this .free virus checker/remover.
You definitely have a virus. What you need to do is install a program to remove viruses from your computer. Go to http://www.download.com/ and download a free trial of a virus remover program. If you like it, consider buying it. That way, incase you get another virus, you can get rid of it. I use Symantec...it's really good, and if it detects a virus, it lets me know so I can remove it.

Find someone to repair it or buy a new one
it might be a virus but you can check it from the startup items for an unidentified program or command that is doing this
you can find startup items at following places : -
1. program files > startup
2. in the registry
but in 50 seconds you can do nothing
try this if you can
as windows starts press "windows key" + R ; this will open the run command window
type ------> shutdown /a
and hit enter key, if it was a command then it will stop.
if nothing happens then i recommend you to format and reinstall your windows.
good luck : )

dont use nortons..it takes up tons of memory and processor speed..
Does your power button get stuck? If so, it is going into 'soft off' mode. Mine does that sometimes.
Other than that, I don't know. You may have to go into the Bios to see if there is a problem. From there you may be able to boot into safe mode.
If that fails, then you may have to remove all unnecessary hardware to troubleshoot it.
Make sure your CPU fan is working. IF it is stuck or bad the PC will do this to protect the CPU from overheating and will not allow the PC to run.
