I have a sony vaio laptop and up until a couple of days ago I used to extend the monitor onto my tv with no problem. Recently every time I plug the wire ( I believe its called an s video wire) between the two devices my laptop just goes blank and the only way to get the screen back is to put it into sleep mode and restart it. the display does not work on the tv, please any tips or solutions!!! thanks

I have a Sony Vaio as well. I use the HDMI output to my 50in TV so far no problems. I used to use the "s wire" on my dad's Toshiba in the past. That used to be real hell.
For now I would say that you might want to get into the display properties of your Vaio and see how to connect the monitor to the TV using the hotkeys on your keyboard and how to bring back the image to your monitor. Its usually something like "FN + F6" or something like that. You need to find your Vaio manual and see what the actual keys are for this.
Otherwise, if your Vaio also has HDMI output, I's say search online for a HDMI cable and use that instead (if your TV has HDMI input of course)
in case you have the F12 function on your Bios it is going to arise with a itemizing of bootable units to decide on. in case you have chosen your CD/DVD tension because of the fact the 1st bootable device in Bios and it quite is not booting from there then you certainly have not made your disk a bootable disk while burning probably or your tension isn't interpreting the disk. How did you burn the disc.. a good unfastened burming prog which will stumble on you're burning an ISO report is imgburn
