I've been having some problems finding good fitting bras. I wasted £30 on some (what I thought) were good bras but the cup gapes a bit and the back is too stretchy. I know you're meant to be able to fit 2 fingers under the bra itself when it's on but I can fit like my whole hand under the bra (on the back) strap. Is it too big?
Update:I bought my last bras from M&S and they fit like a treat but are getting old now. I've had them for a while and I tried to find similar ones but have been unsucessful :( so I bought the Per Una brand .
Update 3:also, as time goes on with wear.. i guess the bra becomes more comfortable?

Your títs should fit in the bra with out spilling out at the underarms if you wear underwired types the wire should fit against your chest with no tít pushing out at the where the wire is same with non wired the back should fit snugly with out feeling loose if it gapes try a smaller back size
I had a professional bra fitting at Intimacy,NY and this is what they told me:
The band should very snug on the loosest hook so as it stretches out from wear you can buckle it tighter to keep the fit. You are correct about the two finger thing. The piece of fabric between the cups in the front should lie flat against your chest. You should fit into the cups without spilling over them at all or without any gaps. The straps should only make up 10% of the support (meaning you should be able to wear the bra without the straps basically).
Try going down a band size or two and try a few different cup sizes. Remember that as the band size gets smaller your cup size will need to be increased (most likely, unless it was way to big to begin with!) Fit the band first, then find the correct cup size. You might need to experiment with a few different brands to find the best fit as well. I love la perla, simone perele and freya. They are a little pricey in the US but well worth the money! Good luck

I have that same problem, First this first get a proper fitting, many women buy bras that are the wrong size and try getting fitted every time you go to buy a bra, things change.
it almost sounds that your bras are too big.
It should fit snug but not suffocating and the snaps on the back should be on the last hook available so that when the bra streches you make it tighter by increaseing the hook position.
It annoys me when my bra cup gaps. victoria secrets bio fit bras has been the first i found that didn't gap but all their other bras frustrate me
good luck
go to a place that does bra fittings. at the very least get measured by an expert.
i usually go to the shop, get measured, then go and pick up *every* bra in that size, try them all on and see which ones obviously don't fit, then get the fitting lady in to check the fit of the ones i have left. so far this has worked well, i got 3 bras a couple of weeks ago and they all fit really well.
dunno what country you are in but in UK M&S and John Lewis definitely have good fitting services
I agree with the others about getting measured , thats really the first step and try on as many as you can .With the bra thats too big , why dont you take the back in a bit , even if you just wear it for work at least you are getting some wear from it.
Find a store that sells Freya or Fantasie and go for a fitting. I wish I had done this years ago instead of wasting my money on a bunch that did nothing for me.
It was a bit of a sticker shock
Get Measured By The Store Assistant They Will Help You Find The Right One
Good Luck :)
Same as Tanika97 im afraid, evn though ive had a measurment done it then depends on where you buy the bra and what make! soooo annoying. When you find that perfect one get doubles.
If you can fit your hand under the band, then it's definitely too big. I would get fitted at a specialist like bravissimo.
go+ get measured - you need to measured in each shop you buy from as they are all made different/fit different even though they shouldnt!
i always find the best t-shirt bras are the £4 ones from asda - even though its not in my normal size and they last a while!
