Basically, I'm failing 2 classes in college as a first semester freshman and will have to do a financial aid appeal. I've only had one thing happen that could qualify as an "extenuating circumstance", which is my boyfriend going to jail and being a butthead about it. Other than that, it's been a combination of the fact that I'm just not motivated to do anything anymore, and poor sleep habits. So for a financial aid appeal, would my boyfriend going to jail qualify? I know he's not dead or anything, but still, it sucks...can't wait for him to get out. But would that qualify?

Your appeal will NOT be granted.
REASONS YOU CAN NOT APPEAL FINANCIAL AID SUSPENSION:
- need for financial aid or lack of knowledge that your aid was in jeopardy
- unfair/incorrect grade for a class or improper advising
- living situation is not conducive for academic success
- relationship issues
- childcare or daycare problems
- transportation issues
- problems with web based or independent learning classes
- work related issues

Your boyfriend did something, he was mad about what he did, you want to use it as a excuse of why you failed?
No, you failed your classes due to not doing what you are suppose to do. You are just looking for an excuse to give. Pay for it yourself until you are back in good standing.
No. If anything, that shows poor judgement in who you date.
