When I go to apply, I only get the option for 2009-2010 year. I'm not sure if that means for the students starting in 2009, and ending in 2010, or starting either in 2009, or 2010. My deadline for college is Febuary 1st, 2010, and Im not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

You can't apply for FAFSA until January 1st.
The new FAFSA form for the award year 10-11 comes out online on January 1st, 2010. This form starts and pays out from June 30th, 2010 through July 1st, 2011. You have to reapply using the NEW FAFSA form each year.
It just means for the fin aid year of Fall 2009 spanning to the beginning of fall 2010. So that covers Fall 2009 semester, winter semesters, spring 2010 semesters, and summer courses in 2010. It doesn't matter if you're just going for one of those, it's just how they keep track of the time frames
Um wow, they mean 2009-2010 because you started ur senior year 2009 and it continues thru 2010 so yes pick that
You can't file for FAFSA until January 1st, but you can file it early at fafsa.com, and they will file it for you on January 1st.
