Last year I had arranged to attend a gap year programme with the company realgap.co.uk. I had already paid the money but unforseen circumstances meant I couldn't attend the trip (university). Seeing as no product was delivered and the funds had already been paid, I sent an e-mail in the following words:
Good afternoon,
I arranged a gap year programme with Alicia Hunt last year to work on a llama farm in Canada. However, I was unable to attend the programme due to unforseen circumstances. Seeing as no product was legally delivered and the money had been paid, I would like to use the money to pay for a gap year programme of the value paid, or ask for a refund if possible. I do not know order number or whatever it is but hopefully your records should have the relevant details.
Sincerely,
Dominic Jefferies

Not at all too blunt! I would, however, research from your own end and find out the order number for yourself and I would certainly make sure I read any "fine" print. Don't let them decide for you how you will get your monies back, refund or another programme. If there is nothing in the "fine" print barring a refund, I would get one rather then let it be decided for me. Good luck with it all and STAY STRONG. . .Be blunt. . .that's what you have to be, ok!
