I just obtained a Ford Explorer 2003 and it comes with a keyless pad at the driver's door, I was told that I could use the site https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin_tools/d... and enter the VIN.. at the bottom "Prod Sequence Number" gives a 5 digit number which supposely is the default number it comes with from the dealer.. now when I enter that number or when I press the buttons, it doesn't make any sound..
Is this normal or does this mean the keyless pad has been deactivated and I have to reactivate it myself?
Thank you.

Open the right/rear door. Gently pull the on-body weatherstrip slightly away from the body at the rear side of the door opening. Fold and lock the right/rear seat back down into the locked position. Carefully pull the trim panel that houses the seat belt height adjuster and anchor pivot off of the body. Now carefully pull the lower trim panel from the inside outward far enough to expose the VSM (Vehicle Security Module). This module has three electrical connectors plugged into it, coloured green, grey and blue. On the module is a label bearing a number similar to 3L2T-15K602-EA. On the same label will be FIVE large numbers. Those five numbers are your five digit keyless entry keypad code. Hope this helps.
It normally won't make a sound, and Ford doesn't have the module 5 digit code in it's banks and definitely won't put it on a consumer site (car thieves would have a field day with stealing cars then)
Ford Goddess is the only way short of a Ford dealer diagnostic tool to retrieve
I have an older ford with keyless entry and there is a sticker in the decklid with the keyless code.....maybe check in the glove box or liftgate...
Are you sure you are entering the right code? Ford places that 5 digit code on the label of the PCM. Find that label and you find your code. If you enter the code correctly, the door locks should lock or unlock. Hope this helps you out.
