Recently I have noticed gas fumes on the inside of my car, but not sure what might actually cause that. Today when I went to leave for work it was already running and I could smell the gas on the outside of the car on the front the drivers side. The smell on the inside of the car is also on the drivers side.
I live in Michigan, and its been cold but not terribly cold. It doesn't have any problems starting, stalling or anything like that. It also seems to be getting normal gas mileage. I thought maybe it was the carburetor since it mixes air with gas but I looked up signs of a bad carburetor and it didn't have any of them.
Its a 2005 Chevy Impala and has a 3.4L engine.
I fix computers for a living not cars...lol
Update:raw gas fumes.. not exhaust.

Hi Kelly,
I researched your issue, and was unable to find any information. The smell of gas fumes indicates that something is definitely wrong. Because I am not a technician and for safety reasons, I would suggest you contact your dealer to get a proper diagnosis.
