Gas princes USA compared to Europe?
I have recently read the people in the United States pay $4 per liter of gas. I always thought that Americans pay less for their gas due lower taxes on gas.
Anyway. Gasprices getting redicously expensive here too. In the Netherlands, we now pay € 1,60 per liter of gas (euro 95, gasoline) here now. That is about $ 2,50 per liter.
What does gas in America? I must be wrong about the $4 per liter, right?

The US does not sell gas by the liter, but by the Gallon.
It's here in Southern California around $4.60 a gallon, roughly $1.21 a liter, but considering the average californian has about an average 100 mile commute on a daily basis, if not more, then it gets to be pretty painful.
It's actually about $4.00 US per Gallon of gasoline in the United States, which is more or less 4 liters.
Most of the difference between your prices and ours are taxes. The US government doesn't tax gasoline heavily - it's about 19 cents per gallon. States also add taxes to gasoline, but that varies from one location to another.
