OK My last question I promise
Do I pronounce the German surname "Lauther"
Like this: "Lou-ter"?
Is that the way they would say Lauther in Germany?
Hey,
in some regions here in Germany u'll hear it like:
- Lauta (many ppl don't pronounce the "r" so evident like in -after-)
or
- Lauter
Here u can confirm it: http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=wlqAU...
^^
Again?? How many times are people going to ask this question??
L-aw-t-e
You swallow the r. East Germans say the r on the end. au is literally ah-oo together.
Hau ab
Yes.
Pronunciation: (lou'tur)
LOW-ter, where the "ow" rhymes with "now".
