girl/competitive?
I go to a medical technical school and the students there seem friendly and want to help each other out. There's one girl who sits next to me and she doesn't like to help other classmates. Am I being foolish for not liking her?
She is shy and i have spoken to her to make her feel comfortable but I dislike her competive mode in the classroom.

I can understand what you mean but that's her there is nothing you can do about it. The best thing is just to forget about it because that is her learning style that's it. Everyone has different ways and when it comes to learning you just have to worry about yourself. If you want to help people with their work great if you don't then that is your choice. I don't think that makes you are stuck up yourself person if you don't help maybe she maybe as you said shy. Don't worry about it just keep getting to know her as you said. Good for you to try and include her if you continue maybe she will start to share her ideas.
Sounds like she's there to learn and excel, not make friends. Be friendly to her, but don't bend over backwards. You'll probably end up getting the shaft.
