Vaseline acts as a moisture barrier and might coat the tampon, making it less absorbent or non-absorbent (although I've never tried it).
You don't need lube, you need a smaller tampon. Get the ultra slim ones with plastic applicators. The plastic slides easier and should help you solve the problem.
I was also having a hard time the first time I tried using a tampon. I thought it would hurt. It took me three days, using a tampon a day, to actually get it right and up there. Well I use tampax pearl and I read the directions. And I also had to use a mirror to find the correct spot. You have to spread your legs apart really well and take a deep breath to relax, otherwise your muscles will force it out if it's not all the way in there yet. Insert it at an angle towards your body, not away. Remember to relax, it's really important. and also use it on a heavy day, otherwise it hurts to get it out. But yeah read the directions and try tampax pearl. I hope this helps! Good luck
Ps Don't even think about using carmex. You have to be really careful about what you put up there ok? Don't use anything at all but the tampon and maybe a mirror
If you were to use a lubricant, do NOT use vaseline. Use something water-based, and if you can't get a lube that's water-based, then get a brand of tampon that comes in plastic applicators and run them under warm water (if you get OB brand tampons, they come without applicators and running them under warm water would just make them expand).
Swimming would make you leak into the water, pressure has nothing to do with it. If you had a light flow, or went swimming the last day or so after your period, it probably wouldn't be noticeable in the water. If you're still having trouble with the tampon, make sure you're inserting it the right way.
First of all, you can leak in the water, I've seen it happen.
Before breaking out the lube, I'd try smaller tampons (the lightest absorbency & the sport kind or junior kind are smaller) & make sure you try many different angles, that's usually the problem most girls have. Vaseline won't hurt you if you're desperate, but if it's still painful even with lube, don't push it. Best of luck!
well make sure your period is a little bit heavy...like a regular flow instead of a light because then the blood will act as a lube....
but you can try other tampons with the rounded tip or a slimmer one......
hope i helped!!!
I'm not too sure about Vaseline..a safer way would jus to use water..wet that area so it can make it easier to slide in
when i first got mine i was afraid to use a tampon right away and i just went swimming without anything. you dont leak in the water because of the pressure.
try a different brand of tampons
or the way you're inserting it
cause if you're a girl it should go "up there"
you prob not puttin it in right
