i really need to tone my fat on my hips before school starts. are there any good exercises to do that, that actually work? i posted my workout routine a few days ago:
50 crunches
40 leg-lifts (lay on side and lift leg up)
20 squats
40 stretches on each side (bend each side with hand on opposite hip)
5 10 second together leg lifts (lay with hands on your lower back, lift leg)
i don't do anything in a row, except the squats and together leg lifts. i'll do 25 crunches, then 20 leg-lifts, etc.
i'm also planning on starting to add cardio within the next week.
the crunches and leg-lifts are working great for my stomach and legs, but nothing is working for my hips! help?
thanks in advance.

Well, you can't really spot treat for fat loss. You can build muscle on your hips, but that will temporarily make them a bit larger until you lose the fat. In order to lose the fat, you need to do a lot of cardio, and you need to eat a very healthy diet. Lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean protein. But even then, you'll only lose fat where your body wants to lose it from. I'm a thin person, but I always have fat thighs and hips, because that's just the way I'm built. Even when I was super skinny (bones sticking out), I still had fat on my thighs and hips. So, just try to get healthy overall and you'll look and feel better.
There are so many different things you can do. I won't get into all of it.
But what I will tell you is to find a workout program that includes circuit training. Circuit training will keep your heart rate up giving you a cardio workout while the weights will tone your muscles.
Do the weight workout 2-3 times per week with atleast 48 hours in between each workout and try to include 1-3 days of cardio. But don't do the two on the same days.
Oh, and try to cut your calorie intake and don't eat any simple carbs (white rice, bread and any type of candy)
any exercise that involves the hip flexors like a wider stance squat or if you can get a weight like barbell etc and doing sumo postion deadlifts help strengthen the hip muscles. if you want to google the internet for exercises i'm sure you would be able to find out proper technique etc.
